Renewable Heating and Cooling Technology

Renewable Heating and Cooling Technology

(a). Solar heating-

Solar heating is a way of developing construction which applies the energy of summer or winter sunshine to give an economic supply of primary and supplementary heat to a structure. The heat can be applied for both space heating (solar air heat) and water heating (solar hot water).

(b). Geothermal heating-

It is caused by drilling water and steam wells in a procedure similar to drilling for oil. Geothermal energy is an enormous, underused heat and powerful resource whifj is clean, reliable and homegrown (making population less dependent on oil).

(c). Heat pumps-

Heat pumps used work for moving heat from one place to another and can be applied for both heating and air conditioning. Two common types of heat pumps are- Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) and Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP), depending upon whether heat is transferred from air and from ground.

(d). Resistive Electrical Heating-

Renewable electricity can be formed by hydropower, solar, wind, geothermal and by burning biomass.

(e). Renewable Space Cooling-

The simplest cause of renewable cooling relies on pumping water from a cold reservoir and chilling water by pumping it via underground pipes. Other renewal thermal technologies can cool spaces by applying a technology known as absorption refrigeration- a type of air conditioning which uses a refrigerant chemical for producing cold air from hot water.
