Delhi (capital of India) Records Lowest Temperature at 12.5 Degrees Celsius in October Month in 26 Years. The minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 12.5 degrees Celsius Thursday, three degrees below normal, and the lowest for the month of October in 26 years, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In 2019, about 61 people died across the country due to cold waves. This was a significant decrease from the previous year’s number of 279. The highest number of deaths was recorded in 2011 when 722 people died.
